Day 11 & 12- Platelet Transfusion

Today Margaret had a platelet transfusion, a platelet is responsible for clotting. It is an irregular, disc-shaped element in the blood that assists in blood clotting. During normal blood clotting, the platelets clump together (aggregate). Although platelets are often classed as blood cells, they are actually fragments of large bone marrow cells called megakaryocytes.

And all these years I thought a platelet was what little girls served cookies on when they played with their tea sets. Imagine my embarrassment.
Does this mean a couplet isn't what I thought either???
Luv ya

Hi Margaret, I don't know you personally but I am a student in Dr. A's nursing classes. My life has been touched by cancer in many ways and I know it is a tough battle. I will keep you in my prayers and wish only happiness and hope for you & your family.

Hi Mom! I saw this quote and thought it wrapped up everything going on with you quite well, “Success is not final, failure is not fatal: it is the courage to continue that counts.” -Sir Winston Churchill. I LOVE YOU!

Margaret Carmen, your daughter picked a quote that really depicts your courage and determination. I am so proud of you. Here's wishing you "Red skies at night"!
