I don't see a Margarita on that table, I guess that means your drinking it.
Let's toast "Good Health to you"

I just spoke with Margaret on the phone, she had her port removed during minor sugery today. She's fighting a bit of an infection, but her fever has dropped.

Instead of visiting Margaret today, after work I went to a bone marrow transplant support group meeting at Banner Good Samaritan Medical Center in Phoenix. It is held the 3rd Tuesday of each month in the Sandstone Conference Room. Any patient, caregiver, family memebr of friend may attend.

The support group provides an opportunity for patients and their families/friends to talk about their experience with the bone marrow transplant. Margaret will be undergoing this procedure in a month or two, in order to beat the leukemia.

I guess the big thing I came away with from this first meeting is that many people there looked pretty good and healthy two years, six years, and eight years after the transplant. But they still must manage their health and take medications to deal with the complications of the transplant. And there are lots of medical challenges facing Margaret over the next year.

This is a long term journey that Margaret is embarked upon. But the people in the support group all said it was worth it. The key was having family and friends willing to make that journey with them. Margaret, you already know that you can count on us. But it doesn't hurt to hear it again, I'm sure.

I love ya, sweetheart!
