This blog is devoted to Margaret Carmen Thomas, who is starting on a new journey to beat leukemia. Margaret will use this space to communicate with family, friends, peers, art teachers, old hippies, doctors, lawyers and indian chiefs. Our prayers and good wishes are to be exchanged here. Please respond to Margaret at this site. Send her and Ken your pictures, cards, poems, inspiration and happy thoughts.

And I still love her as much as I did way back then, if not more! We have been through so much together, wonderful events and experiences, stressful times, and big challenges that were daunting and even scary. Through it all, Margaret has shown her strength, endurance, positive spirit, creativity, and sense of humor. She's a beautiful woman; always has been and always will be.
I visited her at dinnertime today, and she had regained a modest appetite, eating some fish and baked potatos. Her blood counts continue to climb higher towards normal levels. She was feeling much better and issued a few housecleaning orders to me. I think she has no doubt that she's coming home within the next week or so. There are still some routine milestones that have to be met before then, but things are looking much better.
What a wonderful picture of you two. Wow, can't believe how fast time flies. I remember when you both looked like that! Simply wonderful.
What a wonderful memory! That's the Ken I remember and what a beautiful wife, however, the most admirable thing is the wonderful relationship the two of you have and such a great family and circle of friends. I wish I could add a picture that I have of Russ and I from a Navy function, it's almost the exact same shot. One thing you have to remember, that no matter what is going on, your love and memories are still happening. I love that Russell is still with me beating the odds but unfortunately his brain is deteriorating and he doesn't remember much and our memories are buried somewhere but I still have them tucked in the crevices of my mind and heart. I was so happy to see all the great news and that Margaret will probably be home next week! What a celebration that will be! Hang on tight to each other and ride the waves!
I thought the two of you would be good for each other when I set you up years ago, I just didn't know how really wonderful it would turn out. You are a lucky woman and Ken is a lucky man. James and I are blessed to have you as life long friends. We miss you and are looking forward to you coming home.
Love,
Claudia
